3rd Annual Washington State Menudo Cook Off Championship
This years Washington State Menudo Cook-Off Championship will on Sunday, August 13, 2006. The annual event will be held at the Hisey Park (Dino Park) in Granger. As you remember last years event was successful and enjoyed by many who attended. This year Menudo Cook-Off Championship should be just as good. The annual event is to promote a cooking culture in the community. Menudo is one of the most familiar menus among the Hispanic population. The event will draw some of the best Menudo cooks from our communities’ . This event is organized by volunteers of the Granger Chamber of Commerce. Everyone involved with the organizing will be neutral to the rivalry as this will give a fair and competitive competition. Judges will be selected by organizers and will not be influenced by any members of the Chamber. Winners of the 3rd Annual Washington State Menudo Cook-off Championship will win a monetary prize, trophy and be given publicity.
Judges: Mayor Robert Welch, Richland, Mayor Robert Jones, Selah, Mayor Paul George, Yakima, Mayor Jessie Farias, Wapato Mayor Norm Childress, Grandview, Granger City Council Person, Ernie Guerra, Toppenish City Council Person, Bill Rodgers Sunnyside City Council Person, Paul Garcia, Granger City Council Person, Natalie Ybarra (list not in order) Granger National Night OutGranger National Night Out will coincide with the National Night Out events happening across the United States on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. Organizing this years event are the Granger Police Department, KDNA Radio, Granger 21st Century Community Learning Center and the Granger High School. The National Out event will held at the Granger Dino Park (Hisey Park). The event is scheduled from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. What is National Night Out (NNO)? It's America's Night Out Against Crime! The "23rd Annual National Night Out", a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, 2006. NATW cordially invite communities to be a part of our NIGHT OUT 2006 team. Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 34 million people participated in NNO 2005. |
